Used in A Berkey Royal : 2 Black Berkey Replacement Water Filters - Big Berkey
I'm a long-time Big Berkey owner but this is the first time I've used the black filter elements, having started with the older white ceramic elements which are apparently no longer available.
The capability of the filtration seems very good, although I did not have any food coloring on hand to truly test it out.
I'm happy with these elements. The only theorize I did not rate this 5 stars is because of the priming that's required. In principles the priming should be very simple. Unfortunately my apartment sink is too shallow and I approximately broke my faucet arm trying to do the priming. Please be aware that you need a deep basin with plentifulness of clearance to do the priming required to use these filters.
